Window coil balance

Question

Hi - I have windows that won't stay up, and after watching a lot of videos, I think these are coil balance windows where the coils have broken. I weighed the sash and it's 14 pounds. There isn't a cutout for easy removal of the part, so I guess I'm going to need to make one, but I wanted to be sure that I could get replacement parts first. Would your 150 series likely be compatible with these?

I'm afraid I can't identify what you have based on these photos. Too many important details are obscured.

The proper way to identify coil balances is to start with the pivot shoe, which I see in your first photo. It looks like it might be our 15-140, which is indeed designed to be used with the Series 150. However the only way to be sure is to take it out to compare.

You need to take the old hardware out before you buy anyway, since you need to get the weight rating printed on the old stamp.
