Window crank

A quick learner from Asheville, NC says:
Dear Swisco Folks,

I'm renting a place with some old casement windows and a few of the cranks have stopped working and appear to be stripped.

The crank opens the window fine, but when I crank it closed the crank (and connected shaft) pushes out from its threaded seat and the window will not close all the way.

As such, I'm hoping all I need is to find and replace the crank, rather than the entire operator unit.

Many many thanks for your help!

Gregory

Hi Gregory. Unfortunately, when that gear pops out with the handle, it means the entire operator has run down and needs to be replaced; this is also indicative of being able to open the window but not close it. To know what awning operator you need, you'll have to remove your old one and show us a photo of it from the rear, so we can have a clear view of the hole pattern on the top and bottom tabs. I also need a side view that shows the link arm entirely, including the hole at its end. From there we should be able to assist you.
