This is from an old window, maybe from the 1960's or 70's. Thank you.

Looks like an old awning window operator. We sell a bunch of these, but in order to narrow down the list of possible replacement parts I will need you to disconnect this from the linkage, remove it from the window, and show me a clear shot of the link arm without obstruction.

I also can't quite make out the pattern of the bottom two installation holes. Might that be another shot you can take for me?

It wouldn't detach from the linkage, but here are a couple more pictures of what is inside the rectangular piece, plus a picture of the two bottom mounting holes.

I'm afraid that without seeing the linkage without obstruction, I won't be able to make a recommendation.

For now, you can see our full selection of awning operators here. If we sell anything that has any hope of replacing this then it will be on this page. However, that link arm is a vital detail and you won't be able to narrow it down without removing it first.

Ok, I'll take a look at what you have and plan to try to get the linkage off once the weather warms up. Knowing me, I'll get the window stuck open! Thank you so much for your help.

Sure thing! Sorry again that we couldn't make a more reliable recommendation. If you're really having trouble with the window then you may want to ultimately have a local professional come out and see what they can do about it. These windows are definitely frustrating to deal with even on a good day.
