Window crank with smaller hole

A friend from Vermont says:
Hi,
I have a stripped window crank. I went to Lowe's and Homedepot but neither seems to have a crank in the right size. The "hole" is always too large for the metal dowel thing sticking out of the window that it fits over. So the ones from Homedepot/Lowe's don't even touch the grooves they're supposed to interlock with.

Whatever this is, it must be smaller than average.

The crank itself says "8160" on the underside of the long arm and says "4" there as well, at the very end near the handle-bit.

What is the size of your spline? I suspect it might be 9/32". If so, check out our 39-148 Peachtree casement operator crank handle.
