Window crank hard/won't to turn

Handy Person from Sammamish, WA
I have a 2 windows a right hand and left hand(shown) that are hard to crank. I think the gearing is worn down. The window maker is Milgard. Everything else on the window looks like its working. I did find the window itself is so heavy on the hinges that its whats causing the hard turning(or not turning now).

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! Since you believe the gears are at fault, it is most likely the operator that needs to be replaced.

You have an older, discontinued version of the 39-091 ROTO Casement Operator; the opposite hand is the 39-092. We do not sell the replacement for the link arm, so you will need to reuse it for the installation.

The compatible hardware and accessories can be found tagged below.

If you do find that the window is still presenting operational issues, then there is a chance the hinges may need to be replaced. Yours appear to be a match for the 36-031 Pivot Hinge Set. The specifications can be viewed on the website.
