Window crank mechanism

Handy Person from Los Angeles
I have a window crank that appears to not work. Upon opening or closing the inner mechanism loosens and dislodges. Then I have to manually push the window closed from outside after removing the inner crank mechanism. Each elbow is about 6" in length and the center piece is about 4" so total amount of opening is likely about 12" total when fully open. But elbow to elbow distance is likely 16". Please kindly advise which compatible replacement parts I will need. Thank you.

Hello! Looks like your worm gear is stripped out. Since your elbow-to-elbow distance is 16", I recommend our 39-140. As long as that measurement is accurate then this will repair your window.

Does this part require an operator cover such as the one below in link?

No, that cover is designed to go with a different product. The 39-140 has its own cover that is physically part of the mechanism itself and cannot be removed or replaced, nor can any other covers be added on top of it. It appears just as you see it on its store page.
