Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! The part you have here is the old Simonton pivot bar. It has been discontinued and is no longer available. They've replaced it with the 26-336 Simonton Pivot Bar. It was explicitly designed to replace the old version but customers have told us that it isn't exact an ideal fit. Take a look over the dimensions and design and see what you think.

In regard to the window falling forward, you are likely having an issue with the tilt latches installed at the top corners of the sash. Generally, the window would not fall forward due to an issue with the pivot bar. The tilt latches are what keeps a window sash secure.

Be sure to double check the latches on the top of the sash to determine if there is any damaged to them. If so, I would be happy to take a look at photos of them to determine the best possible replacement.
