Hey there, thanks for posting! You have a coil balance assembly that appears to be an older discontinued shoe that is no longer available. For this, we typically recommend our 15-192 Certainteed pivot shoe to replace your Simonton brand part but you may need to shave down the aligners from the shoe to install it into the window. Take a look at the dimensions to confirm if it may work for you.

There are compatible with the Series 170 coil balances as well as the Series 171. The S171 is stacked on top of the S170 in situations where there is more than one coil. The confirm which coil strength you need, you'll need to look for any stamps/markings on the metal coil. If there are no stamps/markings, you'll need to get the window weight and divide it by the total number of coils in the window.

I have Simonton windows (10 years old) and the shoe balances decided to all break at once. I ordered 4 of 15-192 to make sure I could manage on my own. I needed to shave down the front and back (aligners) to make them slide. I didn't know that I would need new pivot bars. Even though I replaced the metal inner with my old metal inner, the plastic doesn't open enough to allow the old pivot bars to fit. So I'll be ordering them along with the rest of the needed shoes. A helpful hint to homeowners attempting to fix your windows, watch Swisco's videos on replacing the shoes. In addition, you may have to cut down the window where the shoe fits to get the new one back in. It's o.k. as your window will cover what you cut away. If I can manage this, anybody can, because I'm not that handy in the fix-it-yourself department. Thanks Swisco!
