Window lifts?

Handy Person from Centralia Illinois
I have insul-sash windows that will not stay up on their own. I was wondering if these spiral slides are available? The tube is 31 inches and the spiral is 32 inches. Some of my windows have 2 in each side and some have a single. I just purchased the house and all the windows are falling so I'm hoping this is the repair for it. Also some of the top window release clips are broken.

Hello,

I'd recommend starting by comparing the (3/8") S900-31 and (5/8") S600-31 spiral balances to your assembly. The determining factor would be the diameter of your housing tube. You'll also need to weight the window sash to choose the corresponding color options for your replacement balances based on the chart shown under the product description.

I'm afraid we don't have an exact match for your corner latches, which were discontinued. You could try substituting the with surface-mount tilt latches but we can't guarantee that they would work. Note that there is a cutout at the top corner of your sash frame, which could interfere with the installation hole placement of our surface-mounted latches. If one of our replacement latches would work, you also may need to reinstall the screws used to attach the original corner latches if they are used to hold the sash frame together.

We have a video tutorial shown below that demonstrates the process if you decide to give it a try. Take a look and see what you think.
