Window not able to close to lock

A home owner from New Brunswick says:
I have a window crank that works fine once the window is partly open, but is not able to close to lock or open once unlocked.
From the inside window cranks from left and swings open on the right.
How do you measure the length of the crank?

Tom from SWISCO responded:

There is more that goes into identifying an operator than just measuring the length of the arm. I can do most of the work for you, but I'll need you to remove this operator from the window and show me a clear picture of the mechanism by itself and without obstruction. Please make sure it's one clear shot taken from the top-down.

With that, I am very confident that I can find a good match in our inventory. If dimensions become an issue, then we can cross that bridge when we get there.

A home owner from New Brunswick says:
Thanks Tom,
My first issue is getting at the screws to get the operator off. This is a vinyl window, no wood piece to pry off to uncover screws. I can see examples from youtube where they pry the wood piece off to get at the operator, nothing on this vinyl piece.Do you have any experience with how to get the operator off from a vinyl window where the screws are under the vinyl piece and not easily accessible.

Vinyl window trims like this can be tough to deal with. The last thing you want to do is break the trim on accident. I would start by gently prying up on the sill cover with steady pressure; it should snap off safely. If that doesn't work, you will need to remove the lower side stops.
