Window opener snapped

A home owner from Colorado says:
Hi,

I was wondering if you could suggest a quick fix for this vinyl window problem. The best solution we can come up with to remove the remaining "fin" and replace it with your part number 26-116, Window Sash Lift Handle, and mount it vertically instead of horizontally. We are putting this house up for sale, so a quick solution is best. Also want to know about mounting it - should we go all the way through? I have a handyman to do this.

Thank you,
Lorraine

Thanks for contacting  us, Lorraine. I agree, using a surface mount handle like the 26-116 is probably your best bet. I don't think you'll be able to find the old lift glazing as you had before.

As for mounting it, I'm not sure about your question. Do you mean going all the way through the window? You shouldn't have to do that. You just need to drill two holes, careful not to hit the glass. It can then be installed using a screw like our 33-080.
