Window opens but does not close

Question

We can open window, but it slips and will not close. I believe there is a lock washer missing?   I have 2 windows that do this  one opens to the right the other to left.   Both east to open but unable to close

Hello,

Since the spline the handle attaches to is broken, unforutnately, the entire operator will need to be replaced. We should be able to help, but we'll need to see your operator with the window open so that the arms that move the sash are fully visible to compare to our inventory. Thank you.
