Window part

Question

Hello. The window shown in the picture will not stay up when it is opened (see the paper towel roll holding up the window). I'm not sure what part I need but a contractor said it is maybe a spring.

Can you actually see the spring that you need? We need to take a look at it. Can you find and remove it?
