When I want to tilt the window out to clean it or remove the screen, I push the slider, a tab comes out of the spiral balance channel and allows the window to tilt inwards toward me.

Thanks for posting! From the description above, it sounds like you are in need of a replacement for the window latches. I believe the 26-351 Better-Bilt Window Latch Pair should work for the repair.

Carefully look over the specifications and compare them to confirm that this is the correct match.
