Hello,

I am writing in hopes of getting help in replacing what I believe is the sash spring on one of our aluminum windows installed in 1996.An identical cap to picture 4 also fits on the opposite side over the area in picture 1. When we open the window, the metal part in picture 5 does not stay contained under the cap. We are not sure what part broke this area when the blinds above fell onto this area and apparently broke off part of the mechanism in picture 1. I hope all of this makes sense. Thanks for your help.

Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. We can help with this. We'll just need more information to help determine what you could have here. Can you remove an undamaged channel balance from the window? We'd like to see up-close photos of the top and bottom fittings along with the stamp printed on the metal channel.

Can we also see a photo of the undamaged top sash guide removed from the window? Angles of the front and side of the guide are ideal.

Can we also see close up shots of the top and bottom fittings of the balance? That will allow us to identify it.

We're almost there! I still need to see a photo of the top fitting. That would be the fitting at the other end of the balance. You showed us a portion of it in your initial photos but it's too obscured when installed, unfortunately.
