Hi, Patti.

Start by comparing your vent latch's dimensions to our 26-122 and see if this matches up. Is there an identical window in the house with an intact sash lock? If there is, can you show us some photos of that? We will also need you to write out the distance between the two installation holes, measured from center to center.

As for the weatherstripping, can you remove an undamaged sample and show us a clear view of the end profile? For the pile, we will need you to write out the pile height and base width to help narrow down your options.

Thank you!

A home owner from Cicero NY says:
Hi Emily
Yes 26-122 appears the same size.

Sash lock center to center - I measure 2"
But not quite to an 1/8" I added pix

Lock pix from another window.

As for weather stripping - the bottom piece is missing on most windows and the ones left are badly torn. The pix is the end once removed.

I don't know how to remove the pile on sides of windows. Do I take the plastic part out to get it out? See pics.

Thank you

Hello, Patti. Emily isn't here today but I will do my best to advise you.

Starting with the bubble seal, our best option will be either the 58-171 or 58-182, depending on the size of the "T" that goes into the base. The diagrams below will help you choose between them.

As for the wool pile, in most cases you should be able to just slide it out of the window channel from the end. However there are many manufacturers that seal that channel closed, making replacement difficult. If that's your situation then you will need to make your own openings in order to access the pile. The video guide below will show you how we do it. Hopefully it helps. In the meantime, you can see our full selection of wool pile sizes here.

I need 2 locks. I have the keeper and holes are 1-7/8 apart. They are face mounted.

Locks on other windows holes are 2-1/16 apart.

Not sure if 90-077A or 90-278. Nothing else looks close

Thanks Patti

Thanks, Patti! It appears our 90-278 with 2-1/16" hole center spacing is our best match but compare our dimensions with yours to see if they align for what you need. I'm afraid we don't have this exact keeper, however. Our 90-237 would be our best option but I cannot guarantee it will work. I am sorry we cannot offer a better match.

A home owner from Cicero NY says:
Trying to figure out the last few items for now.

Pivot shoe for tilt windows with blue tip spiral spring. Tube is 3/8" I haven't measured length.

Shoe stays at bottom of channel on many windows. Don't know if they can be reattached and work or need replacement. I tried measuring shoe 2 1/16" long 5/8" deep 1/2" wide. That is with it in windows I don't know how to remove it. So maybe not 100% accurate in size.

Thank you
Patti

Since your outer tube measures 3/8" in diameter, I recommend our Series 900 tilt spiral balance with the blue tip option. For the charging tool, see the 75-006. When determining the length, you'll only want to measure the outer tube.

As for the pivot shoe, take a look at our 15-178 and 15-188. I also recommend watching the video below which will walk you through how to remove yours from the window track. Once you have it removed, re-measure your pivot shoe and compare your measurements to our 15-178 and 15-188 to see which one matches up.

A home owner from Cicero NY says:
There are no spiral springs in this window any longer. Nothing to measure. How do I determine the length now? Wood holds the window up and it won't open without holding it open.

When I'm ready to order do I do it on my own? Or through you? How long does it take to get items?
THANK YOU
PATTI

Paul from SWISCO responded:

Hi, Patti. Looking at your photos and pivot shoe, I can see your tilt balances are not 3/8" thick, but 5/8", which means you would need the Series 600. Is there an identical window in the house? If there is, you can take the measurement of that window's balance to determine what length you would need.
