Window parts question

Handy Person from Syracuse New York

Hi,

My name is Pete Patnode and I am looking to fix several windows in a house my son just purchased. I think these parts are called sliding window guides (photos 2, 3, 4) but I cannot find the exact match on your website. I am not able to determine how old the windows are or what brand they are. Any chance you would know what they are and have them in stock. I have 10 windows that need these guides on both sides.....10 sets or pairs.

I also have two additional windows with a different slider....that is the first photo. The sliding mechanism in that photo is 2 5/8".

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Pete

Hi Pete, thank you for posting,

It appears that you are in need of new tilt latches. Unfortunately we are not able to provide a direct replacement for the internal style shown. The best option we can supply is converting to a surface mounted style like the 26-228 and 26-229. Please review the video below to see if you think the window would be able to adapt this conversion.

For the surface mounted style shown, please start by reviewing the style and dimensions of the 26-243 and 26-244 to see how they compare to the originals.

Let us know what you think and if you have any additional questions!

Thanks for the information and quick response. I see the tilt latches do not come with screws....Can you confirm the correct screw is your part #33-090 the #8 3/4in Phillips pan head screw.

Again Thanks!!!

Hi Pete,

If you are looking to use the 26-228 and 26-229 tilt latches, you will need a #8 screw, but the length will depend on your sash. You will need a screw long enough to engage with the new installation holes, but short enough where they will not come in contact with the glass in the frame.
