Window repair

Handy Person from Wesley Chapel, Florida
Hello. Recently one of our dining room windows has become difficult to open and close, and I noticed that the window in question looked different than the rest in that the silver bar in the photo appears to have come loose and is all the way up at the top of the window frame. I am assuming that the silver bar is spring loaded and a clip or something broke which caused this to happen. I sent a photo of the bar and the window sticker, hopefully you can help me.

Hello,

We'd be happy to help but we'll need to see your channel balance fully removed from the window including the bottom fitting, metal pulley clip, and the stamp code on the metal channel to narrow down your replacement options.

If the balances are intact and the only problem is that they are out of place, you may have broken top sash guides as shown in the videos below. If so, we would need to see detailed photos of an intact guide removed from the other side or an identical window in the house. Thank you!
