These spring units have a string that attaches to the upper and lower sashes of my window. The total window size is 37 inches high by 27 1/2 inches wide. The upper and lower sashes are each 19 1/2 high by 27 1/2 inches wide. There are no part numbers on the spring mechanisms and no window maker identification. I need to replace both mechanisms.

Thanks for reaching out to us. That's weird that your balances don't have any stamps on them. The important stamps are sometimes located on the side tab which requires full removal of the balances. Can you remove the balances and show us the numbers printed on the side tab we're referring to?

Yes, thank you, Rich! Based on the numbers 5 23, I recommend having a look at the 24-531. This is designed to replace Andersen balances that include such a stamp.
Yes, we always recommend replacing balances on both sides of the window. The 24-531 can work on the left and right hand side of the window.
