Window sash/balance

A home owner from Englewood Florida says:
I lifted the 62 by 52 PGT single pane sash window and the long metal bit from the right hand side popped out and stayed at the top of the window frame, I think it broke through the top, with difficulty push it back down with the mettabit inside the bottom window and I was able to close and lock. I've noticed you have some videos on maybe this problem, can you suggest a replacement part or parts?

Many thanks Lorraine Cannon

Paul from SWISCO responded:

Sure. We can help you locate a replacement balance. The first thing that need to be done is to remove the entire balance from the window. Next. upload some photos of the entire balance, including the nylon end attachments. After that, we need to know the metal length of the balance, the channel width, and any stampings or markings that may appear on the balance. Once we have all of that information, I am confident we can find a match.

A home owner from Englewood Florida says:
Hi Paul photos attached, metal is 30 inches long, 9/16th width, the top thickness of PGT window is one inch wide. Also the top corner - plastic fixing is broken also. Both balances in window are rusty.

Thanks for the additional photos. Take a look at our S395-30 channel balance. This comes assembled with a 19-0205 top and 15-001 bottom balance shoe. See if this is a good match. As for your top sash guide, start with taking a look at the 18-015

A home owner from Englewood Florida says:
Hi Paul, Those look correct, now I need to chose which option, the number stamped on our channel balance is 29 3 LS CALDWELL, would I go for the 2930?

Paul from SWISCO responded:

Yes, that is exactly the stamp option you would go with.
