The pile in my windows appear to be crimped into the frame. Is this a normal scenario?

Many thanks for writing in. Yes, that is prevent the wool pile from sliding out of the groove. You will need to stick a putty knife or screwdriver tip and force the crimp up. Let us know if you have any other questions.
