Window spring balances

The pictures are for spring balances for my 2 36" X 36" windows. It appears that the replacements are Series 377. The channel length in the photo is 18 1/2 inches. What size should I order, 18" or 19"?

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to say that it is not advised to use a balance shorter or taller than the original. Even if it is a difference of just 1/2".
Are you certain that the length of the metal channel is 18-1/2"?
