Window tilt latch

The right side tilt latch on my vinyl window is broken.   I'm not able to dislodge it easily so I'm not sure how it's installed, but it looks like it probably snaps in.   I just don't want to break it worse trying to get it out when I'm not sure what I'm doing.   Window is from 2004, I don't know what brand.  It's 2.5 inches long and about .5 inch wide.   I included a picture of the intact one from the window next to it.
