Window track

Question

Hi.  I need to replace the window tracks for my daughter's window (need 4).  The track has printed on it: "86 18-3 ab5 cmc 1".  It is 20 inches long including the plastic ends on it.  I had a window store come out and the estimate was $750 which seems excessive (inner and outer windows; 2 each).  The guy said it was only 30 minutes of work.  I had similar repairs done on windows before and it was much less expensive.

Thank you for reaching out to us. We can help with this. It will just have to be a custom order due to the 86 stamp. That tells me that your balance has a special calibration that isn't matched by any of our standard parts. What I will do now is email you an order link for (4) balances that you can use to place an order on our website. The metal channel for our replacements is 19" so you'll want to ensure yours is the same. Please note that there is a 5-6 week lead time and it might take longer.
