Window troubles

Quick Learner from Corona del Mar
One of the Milgard vinyl windows I had installed about 8 years ago is crooked when I full open it. The window unit's interior dimensions are approximately 1 foot 7.5" wide by 3 foot 2" tall. The bottom half slides up to open the window. However, the open portion of the window is not level. The right side of the opened window is 3/8" lower than the left side. Can you tell me what I need to buy to correct this, please? Also, is fixing it a DYI job or should it been done by a repairman.
Thank you!

When you first had the windows installed, did they open and hold up correctly, or have they been crooked from the get-go? If they held up correctly, you probably just need new window balances. I pulled up some information on the right side of this page for you to look over. I think this will help give you a better idea of what you can do. Replacing balances is very easy and you can definitely do it yourself.

If they were crooked from the start, then they were installed improperly and will need to be reinstalled. This may be a bit of a project, in which case you would want a professional to help out.
