In looking at this diagram, you would need to hook the back of the spring with the back end of the 26-017 retainer clip. Next, place the spring into the bottom cut out in the bottom of the slide latch. As you push the slide latch into the top header of the window sash you will see a small notch in the frame. That is where the front hook of the retainer hooks onto. 

Lastly, with the spring, clip and the slide latch in place, you then clip the 26-001 lever release into the cut out of the frame and into the hole in the tilt latch. 

Take note you will need to remove the top header of the window sash from the frame in order to accomplish this.
