A window not staying open is usually the result of bad balances. These are the spring loaded mechanisms on either side of the sash. 

We sell an absolute ton of balances, but I can't identify what you have based on the provided photos. You need to remove them completely so that we can get a good look at them. I specifically need to see the top and bottom ends, any attachments or shoes that connect to them, and all markings printed on the casing (if any are present).
