Windows

A handy person from Jersey City says:
My windows will not stay up when opened, they simply slide back down. I suspect the parts in these pictures are what need to be replaced. Do you have these parts?

Thank you

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Sounds like you need new coil springs. Your pivot shoe resembles our 15-087, which is designed to work with our Series 180. Look these parts over and let me know what you think.

A handy person from Jersey City says:
If you see the first picture where I circled the broken clip, I am not sure if that part is required to keep the window up or even if it is replaceable. What is your assessment?

Tom from SWISCO responded:

That part is the tilt latch, which does not influence whether the window stays up or not. The only thing that does is allow you to tile the window into the house for cleaning or removal. When it comes to keeping the window up, balances do 100% of the work.

A handy person from Jersey City says:
thank you for your response. Is the tilt latch replaceable and do you have it? For safety reasons I do not want the window to inadvertently tilt on my tenant.

Thank you,

Royston

Sure! Take a look at our 26-267 and 26-266. These should match, but look over our dimensions just to be sure.
