The pivot lock shoes are failing in a few windows.
im a bit concerned if i remove it, there's a spring loaded aspect to the mechanism that I won't be able to replicate without the special tool.

Your coil balance shoe reminds me of the 15-191 Heavy Duty Pivot Shoe. While I am confident this is the correct replacement shoe, you'll need to remove the assembly and carefully compare the dimensions below.

This shoe is compatible with the Series 160 Coil Balance. You'll need to look at the stamp on the coils to determine exact which ones you'll need to support the sash weight. If it does not have stamps or they are hard to read, you'll need to confirm the sash weight.
