Won't hook to spring

Question

I need this part that rests on the spring assembly in the window frame.  Also the other side looks like it has a broken part but I don't know what either of them are.  Thanks!

The part you're looking for is called a top sash guide. It's tough to determine what yours is from a broken piece but the general design reminds me of our 18-166. I recommend that you review this part to start out and see how well its size matches your original.

If you have an undamaged version, perhaps from another window, then I highly recommend using that to take your measurements when you compare it to ours. That will make things a lot easier for you.
