Wooden Double-hung sticking

Question

I've just painted the exterior of our double-hung windows. They are now sticking terribly. What can I do? I did put WD40 down the tracks on the sides, but it's not enough.

Hey there, thanks for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. Being that these are freshly painted wood sashes, I recommend taking a thin putty knife and working it between the sash and the window track to free them. Give that a shot first and see if it works.
