Wool Pile - How Tall?

I need to replace the wool pile weatherstripping on my storm windows but I don't know the correct height. The existing wool pile is so compressed it's impossible to tell what the original height might have been. I know it's 3/16" wide but I'm not sure if I should order a height of 5/32"(58-001), 3/16"(58-002 or 1/4"(58-127). Since the difference between shortest and tallest is only 3/32", should I just use the tallest so it will compress more and have a tighter fit?. . . or might that actually cause it to be less effective?

Also. . . do you know a product or technique for removing oxidation from aluminum storm windows frames? The oxidation ranges from none to fairly thick.

Thanks for your assistance.

Good morning! Thank you for posting and submitting your images.

It appears the 58-002 Gray Wool Pile should be a good fit; it is our most popular wool pile product.

As for ridding the aluminum frame of its debris and build up, I recommend Naval Jelly Rust Dissolver.
