Would you be able to identify who made my window?

Handy Person from Saint Clair Shores , Michigan

New purchased house. Have a few broken double hung windows. Top window won't stay up.

Trying to find out what kind of windows they are.

Attached is the only sticker I could find on the window.

Looking to see if their is replacement parts and if the window can be fixed.

Attached is the sticker I found in window.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you !!

Ken

Thanks for reaching out to us, Ken. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that "SIL-4" marking on your sticker indicates that you have a Silver Line brand window. Does that name sound familiar at all?

It also sounds like you're having issues with the balances. These are spring mechanisms on either side of the window that counterbalance the weight of the sash, keeping it up. If your sash is falling then that means those springs have failed in some capacity.

The bad news is that knowing that Silver Line made your windows isn't enough for us to move forward from here. At this stage your balances could be just about anything. We will need to start by having you remove one of the original balances and submitting photos of it for me to review.

Please make sure to include any marks or stamps you see. Seeing the balance in its entirety would be ideal, but if it ends up being too long for any photo like that to be helpful then you can just show me the top and bottom ends. Note that I may ask for more photos afterwards, but I'll need to know what to ask for first.

We sell an absolute ton of balances, many of which are compatible with Silver Line, so I'm very confident we have the hardware you need. Once I have those photos we can work on getting you the best replacement part.
