Wright VK1104 handle

Question

I purchased a home that has a sliding glass door (probably late 1970s vintage) that has a key lock in the handle. However, there are no keys. The handle appears to be identical to the Wright VK1104 handle sold at the local Lowes, and similar to your 82-261 handle. My door is only a little over an inch thick, between 1" and 1-1/8".1)

Rather than replacing the entire handle (and Wright does not sell just a cylinder), do you know if your 82=310 cylinder will fit this handle?2) Alternatively, if I need to replace the handle to get a new cylinder and key, which Swisco locking handle would you recommend to replace a Wright VK1104?

The mounting holes in the door are 3-15/16" apart and the door is about 1-1/8" thick. Can I just use the 82-306 exterior handle with the existing internal handle, or do I need to get the complete "Legacy" handle 82-086? What about the 82-030A?3)

Last question, are your locking handles compatible with cylinders for conventional door deadbolts (Baldwin/Schlage/Kwikset/Yale) such that all the locks in the house could be on the same key?

Your handle set does not the same design as our 82-261, since this uses a different latch mechanism. Additionally, neither the 82-086 nor the 82-030A will work for the same reasons. You can rule these products out entirely.

Your old handle uses a flip latch like the 82-003. This has a 3-15/16" hole spacing, too, so there won't be any need to redrill holes. The only issue is that the 82-003 is made for 1" thick doors. If yours is over that, then you'll need to get creative. Reusing the old screws and the flip latch itself will be necessary at minimum.

Regarding a key lock, the 82-003 is compatible with the 82-306 keyed exterior pull. We've used this together many times.
