Yellow tipped spiral window balance

Are you looking at the S900-30? Sometimes the red tip is more of an orange color which sometimes fades to yellow overtime, but there is definitely a yellow tip option sometimes too. I would like to check to see what color tip you should use. Can you reply with the weight of your window sash? Please remove the window sash from the window jamb channel and weight it on a scale (such as a bathroom scale).

You may be right with your assumption. The yellow tip range is approximately 24-34 lbs. You may want to go with the green tip, which supports a weight of approximately 14-26 lbs, with your sash weight falling in the middle.
