aluminum beading identification

Quick Learner from dripping springs, texas

If you can help identify this beading that you be amazing.

I think the building is a double-wide mobile home.

The glass is single pane that is sandwiched beteween the aluminum frame and this beading. I think the beading just snaps into place, but it did offer some resistance like it was tacked in with some sort of rubber cement maybe?

Anyways, one of the pieces got somewhat mangled. I thin I could straighten it out and reuse it, but if replacement beading is readily available, I would just go with that. Seems there are a lot of form factors. Is there some standard or something? Can I use a different form factor and it would click into place like this one?

Thanks a ton for your help.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Aluminum glazing is very hard to come by these days. I don't know any company that still manufactures it; most have moved on to vinyl. There also isn't any such thing as a standard or universal glazing. They need to be the same style and size.

There's going to be the major issue for you on this project: you won't find the same style since it's not made anymore. So your plan of attack is going to have to be to find the same size, something close to the same style, and more or less hope for the best. I won't lie to you, when it comes to replacing glazing as old as this, there's never a guarantee. But we can at least try to tip the scales.

We sell several glazing beads that have a similar "square" type shape. I'll list them below. Your next step should be to review the dimensions we show in each case, then compare them to your original to see how well they compare. I can't guarantee any of these will be an exact match, but I can tell you they are our best options. I don't think you'll find anything closer.

Please let me know if you had any follow up questions.
