andersen 1857402 awning crank

Quick Learner
Hello. I am looking for help in replacing an Andersen awning window operator that was likely installed in the 1980s. I stupidly tried to open the window while it was covered in snow and it bent one of the arms, which I was only partially able to straighten. As I was trying to straighten it one of the internal rivets popped out also. Ideally I would love to find an identical operator, but if there are acceptable replacement ones I would be interested in those also. The window itself is 41.5 inches wide, and the operator arms in closed position are 16.25 inches wide. Thanks so much for any help you may be able to provide!

Hello,

Unfortunately, we do not carry a suitable replacement for the operator assembly shown in your photos. We can't be positive but you may have a "Renewal by Andersen" window. If so, your best bet would be to reach out to them directly to discuss your replacement options. I'm sorry that we won't be able to assist with this repair but please let us know if you have any other hardware questions. Thanks for posting.

Hello. I am looking for this same part. Did you have any luck?

We checked with Andersen, and they believe it is an older style operator for a roof window, which is no longer available. You might want to contact an Andersen dealer in your area to see if they can suggest a solution. Also, take a look at the three operators related on this page. We can't make any guarantees but look them over to see if you might be able to retrofit one of these styles to work for your window.

Your operator appears to be an older type discontinued Roto awning operator. Andersen was not known to use this type of hardware, however review and consider the 39-393 awning operator and 39-424 sash bracket. With a little modification to the wooden operator sill cover, it is possible you could get these Roto parts to work. The concept on how these parts work are similar.

See the recommendation from a helpful professional above to determine if the 39-393 operator and 39-424 stud bracket might work for your repair.
