andersen casement window crank

Question

the crank handle rotates but my window does not open. the cover part number is 1361529 /1361530.

i tried tightening , but no luck.

do i need to replace the entire lock assembly?

or do i just need to tighten a part that is not catching the handle to move the window mechanism.

Hmm... it could be a couple things. First, I recommend disconnecting the operator from the window and then trying to open it by hand. If you don't run into any trouble, then the problem is with the operator. It is very likely that the gears are stripped. In that case, you have to replace the whole operator.
