Hi, I have balances with numbers that don't match up. These are windows about 70 inches high and the top sash is smaller than the bottom.
Both sides are identical. The stamps read
"11600-3" on the top, the part that is not visible when it is installed.
"11600-2" on the bottom. Also on the bottom:
"L 14"
0" 31 which might possibly be 10" 31
"679"
The only thing I see that might be matching up is the possible 1031, but I have put 1031 on smaller windows in the past.

You're right to notice that the top and bottom balances are different. Since your sashes are different weights, the balances would be expected to be different.
However, the Andersen balances can be tricky to read based on the markings on the outside. The easiest way for us to help you is if you post a picture of your balance.
