awning window

A handy person from Seattle says:
Hi!

We recently purchased a new home, and it has awning windows that open from the bottom. We also have two young kids and want to figure out a way to keep the windows from opening all the way (to prevent falls). Is there some kind of a lock or other mechanism (ideally that would allow the window to open a few inches but not fully) that might work here? Or what would you suggest?

Thank you!
Lily

Hello, Lily. We do sell a product that does exactly that: see our 39-398 sash stop device. This may work for you, though keep in mind that it's designed for casement windows, not awning windows. Their function in this case is similar so I think it will be fine, but it's something to keep in mind. The video below will show you how this part installs.
