awning window crank

Question

what is meant by left handed or right handed replacement crank operator?  Looking at the unit my crank unit is on the left side of window.  The  handle  on the actual unit is on the left side.  Do I want a left or right unit? Thanks for help

Left or right-handedness for these awning operators is determined by the orientation of the crank handle and bottom screw tab, from the perspective of the rear of the operator (or outside the window). For instance, the 39-025 is a right-handed operator, with the tab and handle pointed to the right relative to the rear of the operator. See the image below.

A left-handed operator (or the 39-026) would, as you probably can surmise, have the exact opposite orientation.
