Handle dislodges when trying to crank

Question

I am having a problem with the crank handle. When i try to crannk the handle to close windows the entire handle backs out of the unit exposing the threads. To open the window it works fine.Can i repair this?

If the worn gear came out at the handle you will need to replace the entire operator.
