awning window hardware

A handy person from Beacon New York says:
Hello,
I have a house built in 1960. Most of the windows don't open. They are wood double awning windows over/under style. The crank is centered on the bottom of the window. Some of the handles are broken and or missing and some of the crank arms are striped. There is no markings, names, or model numbers on the windows or hardware.

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Thank you for posting. Is this for an awning window? It looks very old. You could consider something like our 39-390 as a possible substitute. This operator has a rod length of 31", so you would need to make sure your sash can accommodate that width. If not, I would suggest something like our 39-206 operator, which has a shorter arm. Let me know what you think.

A home owner from Beacon New York says:
Hi there, our friend who is a contractor forwarded us this information about possible substitutes for the window cranks on our home. He has suggested we need a slide 27" or smaller. Can you let me know if that's something you carry. Thank you!

Tom from SWISCO responded:

I'm afraid that I don't know what that means. If you have the same operators as shown in the photos above, then the two products that Bob recommended remain our best suggestions--though we cannot guarantee that they will work, due to the age of the original hardware.
