Could you please confirm the size of the screen bail latch.
Is it 7/16 inch wide by 1-1/4 inch long, with the screw set 1" in?

Thanks for posting! Have you seen the dimensions we have listed for the 70-204? You can view them here and on its product page.

The length that you pointed out doesn't really matter so much, but the 70-204's is approximately 1-7/16". You should also check out our tutorial video on how to install this type of hardware. The video does not feature the 70-204, but the pull ring it shows follows a similar concept and should help you get a good idea of how these work.
