balance (name?) parts

We have two double hung windows where our top and bottom balances are broken. Window won't stay up or down depending on the situation.

Hello!

It sounds like you may need new channel balances. We'd be happy to help but we'll need you to remove an undamaged balance with the end fittings intact to compare to our inventory.

So it doesn't have that style. Attached is a picture of the style we have.

Ah yes, I see that you have a coil balance assembly. Can you show me an undamaged pivot shoe removed from the window? If we can identify the pivot shoe, that will tell us the coils and accessories that you'll need.

What you have here is the old Simonton brand coil balance assembly. This isn't made anymore, but we have a more modern assembly that will work just as well. The video below will walk you through exactly what parts you need to buy and how you can install them.
