balance replacement part

Width of metal part is 1/2' and length is 9". Shoe depth is 1". Stamped marking says "8 D".

Please advise on which part I should be ordering to replace this window balance.

Hello there! Thanks for reaching out to us. With the bottom shoe being 1" deep, I recommend the S351-09 with the 840 stamp option. A pair of balances with this stamp will support a sash weighing 11 to 12 pounds. Have a look and let us know if you have any questions.

thanks for the info. I weighed the sash and it only weighs 7 pounds. Should I get the 820 instead?

We like to recommend sticking with the original stamp if the window has been operating for so long without issue. However, the decision is ultimately yours!
