balance rod replacement

Greetings,
I currently have the rods in the images in my windows - one won't go up, the other won't stay up. The existing rods measure 27 1/2" from top to bottom of blue bushing. Can these be replaced with current models not having a plastic tube covering?

If the tube has a diameter of 5/8" or 9/16", then you can use the S600-28 spiral balance. You'll want to consider using a blue tip, like the old balance. Our balances are contained in a metal tube instead of plastic, because metal stands up well to the sun's UV rays.

Thank you! Looks like I can use the part you suggested,,, I'll be ordering from you soon - especially since Home Depot is asking twice your price for the items I need and they are available only online!
