balancer for a Weather Shield vinyl single hung tilt out window

Question

I would like to know what part will work for a replacement (repair) for my Weather Shield single hung tilt-out window balance. The current balance has the following number stamped on it. 08 B2 27 HD

I suppose the 27 stamped on the balance means it is a 27" balance. But when I measure the metal channel it is 27 7/8".

Thanks for reaching out! There is a chance we can supply you with the replacement balances needed for your repairs. Although, I'll need to see a photo of the balance, removed from the window, to identify the correct replacement.

The stamp from the balance typically denotes the weight range a balance should be able to hold to support the weight of a sash. Unfortunately, we would not be able to use it to identify the replacement you need.
