balances on single hung vinyl windows

1. Not sure how to remove the track balances. 2. Also what part do I order from you to replace this. 3. The length of the metal is 27". The width is 1/2" and it is flat. 4. This is from a single hung vinyl window. Lower sash is removable.

It's very difficult to identify what balance you have while it's still installed. Based on what I can see, the design is similar to our Series 765. This may be what you want, but you'll have to review the design of this product to verify. If it's not a match, or you aren't sure, then we need to see the balance removed so that we can get a better look at the attachments.

Any suggestion on how to remove the balance? I have viewed numerous videos. There is no open slot to remove the pivot shoe. I assume there will be tension on the top when I remove the screws?

You don't need to remove the pivot shoe to remove the balance. You just need to unlock the shoe and then let the balance retract all the way to the top of the window. Make sure to keep a firm grip on it, or else it'll shoot up on its own and potentially damage the window frame.

Once the balance is safely and fully retracted, unhook it from the pivot shoe. Then, pop off the plastic cover that's hiding the screw clip and unscrew it. The balance should just come out after that.
