balnacer won't stay attached to 18-171 Stepped Sash Guide,

Question

Banancer slips off the overlap with 18-171 stepped sash guide, shoots upward, and in the process distroys the plastic sash guide. I suspect something is keeping the balancer from working smoothly. Several sash guides later… upper part of window-glass frame has been damaged. Think a new balancer would give my very heavy window a new lease on life. Thoughts?

We're also wondering if you have the correct top sash guides for the window. Is there an identical window in the house? If so, we would like to see photos of the top sash guides it uses.
